Howdy Freelancers! Yesterday update 1.4.1 for Anthem went live, so I’m going to take a peek under the hood and see what’s changed that we’ve been told about, and what we might have missed.
Update 1.4.1 is a server side fix, which means we don’t need to download anything to consoles or PC. However, there’s still a lot of bug fixes here that I think you might find interesting.
With this update the Battle Cry from Colossus Javelins and Target Beacon from Interceptor Javelins will now properly debuff an enemy’s resistances once again. This was broken in the last update, and I’m sure you can all tell since it’s been pretty pointless using either of these abilities up until yesterday.
A bug that prevented formula bonuses from being applied is now fixed. I don’t remember this bug ever being mentioned but I’ve definitely felt it’s effects recently. Apparently this caused unintended damage reduction in certain cases, such as with the Steam Vent ability and combo damage inscriptions.
There was an issue, and I’ve seen this, that stopped Volt Casters, Blade Slingers, and Pulse Accelerators from appearing in the Vault. This was really annoying, and meant you had to view them in the Forge, but it’s been fixed up now.
Jarra’s Wrath was an overpowered mess of a weapon. Now there’s a timer between pulling the trigger and ending the shot before you can fire it again. This fix not only makes the weapon a bit fairer to use, it also helps stabilise the game, which was seriously suffering because of it.
This week’s fixes are all quality of life, which they should be. At this point I think Anthem is where it needs to be, and we’re all gearing up for Act 2 and whatever that think at Emerald Abyss has in store. BioWare has done a great job getting us here, and I’m just excited to see what the future holds for Anthem.
Let me know your thoughts on the update in the comments.
