Howdy Vault Hunters! Today we’re going to take a look at the PornHub search analytics for Borderlands 3, and try to figure out what the hell is going on.

The PornHub data for Borderlands 3 search terms was shared by Greg Miller over on Twitter, and they show some really interesting, or perverted depending on how you look at it, facts. If you’re confused as to why I’m suddenly covering Borderlands 3, check out my article giving you 5 reasons all Anthem fans will enjoy it.

Popularity of Borderlands Searches

Right off the bat here we can see that around the 10th and 11th of September, two or three days before Borderlands 3 launched on the 13th of September, searches on PornHub were already gearing towards the game. I myself haven’t been on PornHub to check how much Borderlands porn there is available, and I’m not going to check because I don’t need that in my search history, but I imagine there must be at least a little in order to justify these results. If there wasn’t a lot of Borderlands porn, I’m sure there was by the 15th of September when these searches peaked over the launch weekend.

Worryingly this either shows that lots of people were on PornHub on Sunday, when they could have been playing Borderlands 3. I hope they weren’t doing both.

Most Popular Borderlands Related Searches

These search results have me a little confused. Once again I’m not going to look up the terms I don’t understand for fear of what I’ll find, but the simple fact that someone, or a lot of people, want Borderlands Siren porn is baffling. Is there an appealing to being punched in the balls by a six-armed mage?

Also, who the heck is searching for Borderlands Tiny Tina on PornHub? That’s not okay, stick to Moxxi.

Borderlands Search Demographics

As a stats person this image really interested me. I’m not surprised that you’re 84 percent more likely to search for Borderlands in PornHub if you’re a man, I think there are probably more female characters to look up. The only reason I think that you’re more likely to search for Borderlands porn on Android is because it’s more readily accessible. I also think this is why Xbox users are more likely to search for Borderlands porn than Playstation users are. That, and Playstation gamers are the best (come at me).

This image also shows why I’m quite surprised by all this data, I’m in the smallest demographic for Borderlands porn at 28. Apparently all young gamers are super horny whenever they load up Borderlands 3, but maybe that’s just puberty? It’s also looking like I’ll start to search out this kind of content as I progress to and past mid-life crisis, and at 65 and over I’ll be on it all the time. Is that really true? Please get in touch if you’re 65 and over and have looked up Borderlands in PornHub, I am genuinely curious.

Other Terms Frequently Searched Before or After Borderlands

Just to be clear here, I’m taking this image to be terms that people search for before they resort to Borderlands, or after, in the same session on PornHub. Hentai isn’t a huge jump, and the combination of this with Borderlands is a big hitter, apparently. One thing this image shows for sure is that there is a definite market for gamer porn.

It’s interesting that the release of a game can have such a massive impact on the search terms on such a, seemingly unconnected, website. For those who don’t think games have a wider impact in the world, here’s your evidence. What this data also clearly shows is that PornHub users definitely play games, so maybe it’s the fact that they’re already on a device that means they head over to PornHub and search for a term related to their hobby.

Let me know what you think of this information in the comments. I want to be very clear that I don’t support PornHub in any way, in fact I think porn can be quite damaging in some cases. If you feel like you’re addicted to, or have an unhealthy relationship with, porn, here’s a helpful article where you can combat that habit. I recommend that if you do feel like you have an addiction to porn, you tell a loved one and get some accountability from them, and seek out some professional help.
